Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat Replacement) in Seats.
2. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement).
3. Remove the carpeted front floor mats.
4. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (D55) (Console Replacement (D55)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
5. Remove the sound insulators from under the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
6. Remove the front carpet.
Installation Procedure
Caution: in order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.
1. Position the front floor carpet into place under the front edge of the rear carpet.
2. Make sure the electrical connectors are carefully pulled through the openings at the center of the carpet.
3. Ensure all wrinkles are removed.
4. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (D55) (Console Replacement (D55)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
5. Install the sound insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
6. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement).
7. Install the front seats. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat Replacement) in Seats.
8. Install the carpeted front floor mats.
