Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement) .
4. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the front bumper impact bar (1) to the front bumper impact bar brackets.
5. Remove the front bumper impact bar (1) from the vehicle.
6. Remove the radiator in order to gain access to the front bumper impact bar bracket retaining nut (1). Refer to Radiator Replacement.
7. Remove the nut (1) securing the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
8. Remove the nuts (2) securing the front of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
9. Remove the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) from the vehicle.
Important: It is only necessary to perform steps 10 and 11 if the stud plate is damaged.
10. Remove the stud plate retainer (2) from the stud plate (1).
11. Remove the stud plate (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stud plate (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the stud plate retainer (2) in order to secure the stud plate (1) to the vehicle.
3. Install the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Install the nuts (2) in order to secure the front of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
5. Install the nut (1) in order to secure the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
6. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement.
7. Install the front bumper impact bar (1) to the vehicle.
8. Install the bolts (2) in order to retain the front bumper impact bar (1) to the vehicle.
Tighten the retainer bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
9. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement) .
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Close the hood.
