Chart 7 Doors Don't Lock W/Ign SW. In Run & Trans Shift to Park
Diagnostic Chart:
Electrical Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the transmission is shifted into "PARK," voltage is applied to the RCDLR/TDM on CKT 275. When the RCDLR/TDM senses voltage on CKT 441 (ignition switch in "RUN"), no voltage on CKT 275 (trans. out of park) and the ground removed from CKT 156 (all input switches open, all doors closed), the RCDLR/TDM applies voltage to CKT 195. The door lock relay is energized to activate the door lock actuators and lock all doors.
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for normal operation of the RCDLR/TDM.
2. If the courtesy lamp function operates normally, it indicates that this system and its function is operating normally.
3. This test checks for the ignition signal at terminal "C16" with the transmission in "PARK."
4. This test checks for an unwanted signal at terminal "C 16" with the transmission in "DRIVE."
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The RCDLR/TDM must see a change of state at terminal "C 16" for the lock/unlock function to occur.
