Chart 11 RKE/TD System Will Not Disarm With Door Key
Diagnostic Chart:
Electrical Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Once activated, the TD portion of the RKE/TD system will continue to flash exterior lamps and sound the horn until the alarm is shut "OFF."
To disarm the RCDLR/TDM CKT 262 has to be closed to ground through either the right or left theft disarm switch. (These switches are part of the door lock mechanism/mini-wedge "with theft" switch assembly.) When this happens the RCDLR/TDM will interrupt the alarm actuation and reset the system to normal status.
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Test CKT 262 for normal operation to LH door lock cylinder key switch.
2. Test CKT 262 for normal operation to RH door lock cylinder key switch.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Loose or poor connections at the RCDLR/TDM connector, or at either door lock mechanism "mini-wedge" switch assembly, will cause the TD system to not shut "OFF" when using the door key in the lock cylinder.
