CODE 61 LOW PRESSURE/LOW FLUID LOOP INPUT NOT PROCESSABLE

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The low fluid/low pressure warning loop circuit, consists of a continuous loop from EBCM pin 9 (reservoir warning input) to pin 10 (pressure warning input). This circuit runs through two normally closed switches. If a low pressure condition, low fluid level condition, or a fault is detected in the low pressure/low fluid loop circuit, the controller enters the "inhibit" mode, partially disabling anti-lock mode and turning on the ANTI-LOCK" lamp in the IPC.

Low Accumulator Pressure Warning

Low hydraulic accumulator pressure may be detected on the loop circuit by an open between Pins C and E of the pressure switch on the hydraulic unit. In event of a pressure decrease, the pressure switch is designed to open the circuit between Pins C and E at 1,465-1,552 psi (10,103-10,703 kpa). As pressure is increased, the circuit again closes at approximately 1,987 psi (13,703 kPa).

Low Brake Fluid Level Warning

A low brake fluid level may be indicated to the EBCM by the fluid level sensor switch in the reservoir. This switch is activated by a float and reed switch in the reservoir assembly. The switch is normally closed and opens the circuit between pins A and B in case of low fluid level.

Loop Circuits

An open in any of the loop circuit wiring will be interpreted by the EBCM as a low pressure/low fluid warning. These circuits include 865 (EBCM to pressure switch), 853 (pressure switch to fluid level sensor) and 866 (fluid level sensor to EBCM).
