Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Special Tools

* EN-45059 - Angle Meter.

* J-43653 - Flywheel Holding Tool.

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Special Tools.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .

2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LEA) Drive Belt Replacement RPO LEA Without e-Assist Hybrid SystemDrive Belt Replacement (LUK) Drive Belt Replacement RPO LUK With e-Assist Hybrid System.

3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LDK Or LHU) Service and RepairStarter Replacement (LEA) Service and Repair.

4. Install the J-43653 - flywheel holding tool in the starter opening.

5. Remove and discard the crankshaft balancer bolt.




6. Remove the bolt (1), washer (2), and crankshaft balancer (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Position the crankshaft balancer (3).

2. Install washer (2) and a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 Nm (74 lb ft) plus an additional 125 degrees using the EN-45059 - meter.

4. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LDK Or LHU) Service and RepairStarter Replacement (LEA) Service and Repair.

5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LEA) Drive Belt Replacement RPO LEA Without e-Assist Hybrid SystemDrive Belt Replacement (LUK) Drive Belt Replacement RPO LUK With e-Assist Hybrid System.

6. Install the wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement .
