Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the release clip retaining the assist rod to the mounting stud (2).




2. Remove the assist rod (2) from the hood (1).




3. Remove the assist rod mounting stud (2) from the hood (1).



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the assist rod mounting stud (2) to the hood (1).

Tighten the stud to 10.5 N.m (93 lb in).





2. Install the clip to the assist rod (2).
3. Install the assist rod (2) to the hood (1).
