Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR)









CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC 71 is an internal DERM malfunction and will set if any of the following conditions are detected: 1) DERM power supply reserve voltage charge or discharge time failure; 2) DERM power supply reserve voltage out of range for 500 milliseconds; 3) DERM is unable to read from or write to EEPROM; 4) 36 VLR is greater than a certain voltage for 500 milliseconds.

TEST CONDITIONS
Tested during "Turn-ON" and every 100 milliseconds during "Continuous Monitoring."

FAILURE CONDITIONS
DTC 71 is set when an internal DERM malfunction is detected during Turn-ON" or "Continuous Monitoring."

ACTION TAKEN
DERM turns "ON" the "INFL REST" warning lamp.

CONDITIONS TO CLEAR
Current DTC 71 will clear if no internal DERM malfunctions are detected for 500 milliseconds.
