Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Removing

Vehicles without the After-Run Coolant Pump (V51)

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.

Vehicles with the After-Run Coolant Pump (V51)

- Remove the after-run coolant pump. Refer to => [ After-Run Coolant Pump (V51) ] After-Run Coolant Pump (V51).

All Vehicles






- Remove Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the A/C compressor bracket.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Loosen the clamps - 1 and 2 - and remove the coolant hoses from the coolant pipes.

The installation location is shown with the power steering pump removed.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Coolant Pipes Overview.

Replace the O-ring.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Clean and smooth the O-ring sealing surface.

- Coat the O-ring with coolant and slide it onto the coolant pipe.

- Install the A/C compressor bracket. Refer to => [ Auxiliary Component Bracket Ribbed Belt Drive Overview ] Auxiliary Component Bracket Ribbed Belt Drive Overview.

- Install A/C compressor.

- Install after-run coolant pump. Refer to => [ After-Run Coolant Pump (V51) ] After-Run Coolant Pump (V51).

- Fill the coolant system => [ Filling ] Service and Repair.
