The radio - 1 - is behind the left luggage compartment trim panel in the lower rack.
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".
Use Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.
Removing
- Open the left storage compartment in the luggage compartment.
The radio is located inside the rack under the sound amplifiers. It is necessary to remove the rack in order to remove the radio.
It is necessary to remove the bracket with the sound amplifiers first in order to be able to remove the rack.
- Unlock and disconnect the connectors from the control modules.
- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.
- Remove the mount and the sound amplifier (BOSE) => [ Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), BOSE (MMI) ] Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), Bose (MMI) or (Bang & Olufsen) => [ Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), Bang & Olufsen ] Digital Sound System Control Module (J525), Bang & Olufsen.
- Remove the nuts - arrows - from the rack.
- Release and disconnect the connectors from the radio - 1 -.
- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.
The wiring harness is fastened to the bottom of the rack and to the floor panel.
- Lift the rack out of the storage compartment just enough until it is possible to remove the radio from the rack.
- Press the left and right tabs - 2 - on the radio - 1 - and pull the radio - 1 - out of the rack - 3 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.
