Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing






- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - as well as the nut - 3 - and remove the exhaust manifold brace - 2 -.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - on the map controlled engine cooling thermostat.






- Disconnect the coolant hose by lifting the retaining clamps - 2 - and loosening the hose clamp - 3 -.

- Remove the coolant hose - 4 -.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the map controlled engine cooling thermostat






Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Coolant Thermostat Overview ] Coolant Pump and Coolant Thermostat Overview.

Replace sealing rings and O-rings.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

- Install the left lock carrier brace.

- Fill the coolant system => [ Filling ] Service and Repair.
