Tunnel Side Trim

Removal and installation can only be performed with the front seat removed.

Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the front seat:

Standard seat and multicontour seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

Comfort reclining seat.

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove expanding rivet - 1 -.






- Remove the screw - 3 -.

- Detach tunnel side trim - 2 - on the backrest hinge trim - arrow - and remove.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
