Headrest Guides

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the front seat => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136.

- Remove backrest cover together with backrest cushion. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion for Standard Seat ] Backrest Cover with Backrest Cushion for Standard Seat.

Headrest guide without release button:





- Press retaining tabs in - arrows - and simultaneously pull the headrest guide - 1 - out of the backrest frame - 2 -.

Headrest guide with release button:






- Press in retaining tab - arrow - and simultaneously pull headrest guide - 1 - out of the backrest frame - 2 -.

Installing

- Always install headrest guide without the release button on the right backrest side.

- Always install headrest guide with the release button on the left backrest side.

• The headrest guide can only be inserted in one position.

• The guide tab of the headrest guide must engage in cut-out of mount on the backrest frame.

• Make sure the retaining tab(s) engage(s) correctly in backrest frame.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat ] Standard Seat.
