Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Rear Seat Backrest ] Rear Seat Backrest or the seat frame/rear seat backrest => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.

- Remove the rear shelf. Refer to => [ Rear Shelf ] Rear Shelf.

- Remove the nuts - 2 and 3 - and bracket - 1 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
