Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

Test Conditions

The parking brake is engaged.

Move the selector lever into "N".

The engine is switched off.

The Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) is connected.

The ignition is switched on.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of injury. The pressure in the R tronic hydraulic system may be up to 50 bar.

Always reduce system pressure first before working on the R tronic hydraulic system.

- Select the "Reduce hydraulic system pressure" function on the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) under "Guided Fault Finding" in the "02 - Transmission electronics" and depressurize the hydraulic system.

To reduce the system pressure, the clutch valve is activated in second cycles and the Transmission Hydraulic Pump (V387) is deactivated. The pumping reduced the system pressure in stages to 0 bar.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of injury. The pressure in the R tronic hydraulic system may be up to 50 bar.

To prevent the hydraulic system from repressurizing while working, the Transmission Hydraulic Pump (V387) must remain deactivated. The instructions for this on the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052) must be followed exactly.

Transmission Hydraulic Pump Relay (J510) installation location

The Transmission Hydraulic Pump Relay (J510) is in the relay carrier under the rear shelf.

If the work on the R tronic hydraulic system is finished:

The hydraulic system is completely closed, it is not possible for hydraulic oil to escape.

- Switch ignition off.

- Install the Transmission Hydraulic Pump Relay (J510).

- Erase the transmission DTC memory using the Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052).
