Oil Pump: Service and Repair






Oil Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Body Repair Saw (VAS 5108)

Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)

Removing

- Drain engine oil.





- Remove the coolant pump. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] Coolant Pump.

- For the following steps, place the (V.A.G 1782) under the engine.





- Remove the bolts - 2 - and remove the oil line.

- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the (VAS 6122).

Ignore - 1 -.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - on the oil pump bracket.





- Remove the bolts in sequence - 11 to 1 -, then lower the oil pump just a little and secure it.

- Cover the openings in the oil pump with a cloth - 1 -.





- Cut the intermediate plate - 2 - with a (VAS 5108) on the marking.

- Remove the oil pump.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Pump and Suction Module Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Replace bolts which have been tightened to an additional torque.

Replace the gaskets and O-rings.

- Tighten the oil pump bolts => [ Oil Pump, Tightening Specification
and Sequence ] Service and Repair.





- Install the coolant pump. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] Coolant Pump.

- Fill the engine oil and then check the level.
