Removal and Replacement

Lock Cylinder

• Make a hook similar to the hook (3438) from welding wire.





Removing





Proceed as follows:

- Remove the outer door opener trim => [ Outer Door Opening Trim ] .

- Remove the door trim.

- Remove the door shell cover => [ Door Shell Cover ] .

- Remove the anti-theft protection cover "II" => [ Anti-Theft Protection Covers ] Anti-Theft Protection Covers.

- Slide the securing clip - 1 - toward the inside of the door as far as the stop - arrow A -.

- Remove the lock cylinder retaining bracket - 2 - with the assisting tool in the - direction of arrow B -.

• The illustration shows the hook (3438) special tool.

- Press the lock cylinder out of the door handle.

• If the lock cylinder cannot be pressed out, slide the vehicle key into it and remove it with the key turned slightly.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Install the anti-theft protection cover "II" => [ Anti-Theft Protection Covers ] Anti-Theft Protection Covers.

- Install the door shell cover => [ Door Shell Cover ] .

- Install the door trim.

- Install the outer door opener trim => [ Outer Door Opening Trim ] .
