Coolant Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Spanner Wrench (3212)

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Left Front Coolant Pipes ] Left Front Coolant Pipes.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - and - 2 - and the coolant pipes.






- Remove ribbed belt. refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Remove the tensioning element for the supercharger ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner.

- Remove the bolts for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley, using a (3212) to counterhold.






- Remove the ribbed belt pulley.

- Pry off the cap.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - and remove the idler roller.






• Lay a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the coolant pump.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pump, Coolant Thermostat and Connecting Piece Overview ] Coolant Pump, Coolant Thermostat and Connecting Piece Overview.

- Clean the sealing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.

- Install the supercharger ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner.

- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt

- Install the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Left Front Coolant Pipes ] Left Front Coolant Pipes.

- Fill with coolant => [ Filling ] Procedures.
