Engine Oil Cooler

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Drip Tray (VAS 6208)

Removing


Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.

Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

- Open the coolant reservoir cap.

- Place the (VAS 6208) under engine.

- Disconnect the coolant hoses - 1 - and - 2 - with the (3094) and remove them from the oil cooler.






- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the engine.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the engine oil cooler.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Upper and Lower Oil Pan, Oil Pump and Oil Cooler Overview ] Upper and Lower Oil Pan, Oil Pump and Oil Cooler Overview.

Replace sealing rings and seals.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

- Fill engine oil and check oil level.

- Fill with coolant => [ Filling ] Procedures.
