Center Muffler and Rear Muffler, Separating

• A separating point has been provided in the connecting pipe for individual replacement of the center or rear muffler

• The separating point is marked by depressions around the circumference of the exhaust pipe.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Chain Pipe Cutter (VAS 6254)

Procedure

- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode.

- Separate exhaust pipe at separating point - arrow - using (VAS 6254) at a right angle.





- When installing clamping sleeve - arrows -, position at center on separating cut.





- Install the left clamping sleeve so the bolts are at the left.





• Ends of screws point down.

- Install right clamping sleeve so that screws are at top.

• Ends of screws point toward right.

- Align exhaust system free of tension, refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.

- On a vehicle with air suspension, deactivate vehicle lift mode.
