Intake Manifold, Upper Section

Removing

During installation, all cable ties must be installed at the same location.

- Remove the front and rear engine covers.

- Free up the hose connection - 1 - to the EVAP canister.






- Remove the vacuum hose - 2 - from the air guide hose connection.

- Remove the air guide hose by loosening the hose clamp - 3 - and opening the clips - arrows -.

Ignore - 4 -.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - on EVAP emission canister purge regulator valve 1 (N80) and disconnect the vacuum hose - 1 -.






- Remove the EVAP emission canister purge regulator valve 1 from the bracket and lay it aside with the hose connected.

Disregard the - arrow -.

- Disconnect electrical harness connectors.






1. Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve (N156)

2. Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Position Sensor (G513)


- Remove the vacuum hose - arrow -.

- Disconnect vacuum hose - arrow - at leak detection pump.






- Disconnect electrical harness connectors.






1 Throttle valve control module (J338)
4 Intake air temperature (IAT) sensor (G42) / manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (G71)

- Free up the vacuum hose - arrow -.

- Free up the wiring harness.

- Remove bolt - 3 -.

- Press the retaining tab - 2 - up slightly and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the intake manifold.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the upper section of the intake manifold.






Plug the intake ports of the cylinder head with clean rags.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Upper Section Overview ] Intake Manifold, Upper Section Overview.

Replace seals and O-rings.

During installation, all cable ties must be installed at the same location.

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type. Refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA.
