Vibration Damper

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove radiator. Refer to => [ Radiator ] Radiator.

- Remove fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud ] Service and Repair.

- Loosen 8 bolts - arrow - on vibration damper several turns by counterholding on generator belt pulley central nut with open end wrench.





• Before removing the ribbed belt, mark the turning direction on it with chalk or a felt tip pen. A reversed turning direction will damage the ribbed belt.

- Loosen tensioning bolt - arrow - and remove ribbed belt.





- Remove vibration damper.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Replace the vibration damper bolts with new original bolts.

• Insert bolts that are not self-locking with locking compound; Locking compound.

• The vibration damper can only be installed in one position - note the alignment bushing.

- Tighten the vibration damper bolts in 4 steps:









- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Install fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud ] Service and Repair.

- Install radiator. Refer to => [ Radiator ] Radiator.

- Fill with coolant => [ Filling ] Procedures.
