Side Trim
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095)
• Fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136)
1 Bolt - 1.2 Nm
2 Side Trim (Sill Side)
Removing
- Remove seat. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.
- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).
- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).
- Remove hand wheel for backrest adjustment - 11 -.
- Unclip side panel - 14 - on outside.
- Remove bolt - 13 - at handle for height adjustment.
- Remove handle for height adjustment - 12 -.
- Remove expanding clip - 15 -, press clamping pin through to the inside.
- Remove mounting bolt - 1 -.
- Remove side panel at lower edge from retaining bracket on seat.
- Swing side panel upward at front edge.
- Remove side panel to side.
- Pull tab at rear of side panel out under backrest trim.
- Disengage brackets for electrical harness connectors.
- Free up electrical wiring.
Installing
To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

• Driver's Seat Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button (E587)
• Front Passenger's Seat Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button (E588)
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button ] Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button
5 Screw - 0.4 Nm
6 Button for Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment
• Driver's Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button (E589)
• Front Passenger's Backrest Bolster Inflation Adjustment Button (E590)
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button ] Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button
7 Screw - 0.4 Nm
8 Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch
• Driver's Seat Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch ( E176)
• Front Passenger's Seat Lumbar Support Adjustment Switch (E177)
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button ] Backrest Bolster and Seat Bolster Adjustment Button
9 Side Trim (Tunnel Side)
Removing
- Remove seat. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.
- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).
- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).
- Remove expanding clip - 10 -, press clamping pin through to the inside.
- Disengage retaining detent at rear side of side panel on tunnel side.
- Remove the trim.
Installing
To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

12 Handle for Seat Height Adjustment
13 Bolt - 22 Nm
• replace with locking compound
14 Side Panel On Outside
