Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-, checking

Checking Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112- electrically

- Disconnect connector at Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

- Perform a resistance measurement between the valve terminals using V.A.G 1526 hand multimeter.
Specified value: 25 to 35 ohms.

If specified value is not obtained

- Replace Secondary Air Injection (AIR) solenoid valve.

Checking voltage supply from Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-

- Disconnect connector at Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Valve -N112-.

Check fuse for Secondary Air Injection (AIR) solenoid valve.
Check wire for continuity from terminal 1 on connector to fuse according to wiring diagram.
Specified value: max. 0.5 ohms

Check Fuel Pump (FP) relay and activation

Checking activation of Secondary Air Injection (AIR) solenoid valve

- Connect V.A.G 1598/19 test box to wiring harness.

- Check wire from terminal 2 on connector to socket E2 of test box for short circuit to Ground (GND).

- If voltage tester does not blink, check wire for continuity from terminal 2 on connector to socket E2 of test box.

- Eliminate short circuit to Ground (GND) or open circuit in wiring between terminal 2 on connector and terminal 2 of connector E if necessary.

- If there is no malfunction in wire connection, replace MFI control module and generate readiness code
