Ignition Timing: Adjustments

Adjust ignition timing with engine at normal operating temperature, choke completely open, distributor vacuum advance hose connected and engine idling properly. Connect a suitable timing light and tachometer onto engine, then check ignition timing is set at 8° BTDC @ 800 RPM. If ignition timing is not as specified, loosen distributor hold-down bolt and turn distributor assembly until correct ignition timing is obtained.
