Removal
Removing protective plate
Raise the vehicle. See Jacking points, body Service and Repair.
Remove the 6 screws.
Note! There is a guide sleeve on the upper mounting for the plate. This must be lifted slightly so that the panel can be slid forward.
Lift and slide the protective plate forward. Remove the protective plate.
Removing the splash guard under the engine
Remove:
- the 6 screws
- the splash guard under the engine
Checking the oil pressure
Unplug the connector from the sensor.
Remove the oil pressure sensor from the engine block using 999 5270 OIL PRESSURE METER 999 5270 Oil Pressure Meter with the hose and adapter 999 7207 Adapter 999 7207 Adapter.
Hint: Catch any oil spills with paper or the like.
Connect to the oil pressure sensor duct on the engine block. Lower the vehicle and raise the manometer to the engine compartment. Start the engine and read the oil pressure at various engine speeds.
Checking the oil pressure sensor
Note! When checking oil level and pressure, the engine should be warmed up to a degree corresponding to 15 minutes of normal operation (100 °C/212 °F).If the grade/type of the oil and/or condition of the oil filter cannot be determined, change the oil and filter.
Reading oil pressure
Measure oil pressure at the specified engine speed.
Remove manometer 999 5270 OIL PRESSURE METER 999 5270 Oil Pressure Meter with hose and adapter 999 7207 Adapter 999 7207 Adapter
Installation
Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque, B8444S [1][2]Specifications.
Installing the oil pressure sensor
Install the oil pressure sensor. Apply Loctite 962 to the sensor and tighten as specified: Tightening torque, B8444S [1][2]Specifications.
Plug in the connector to the oil pressure sensor. Start the engine and check for leaks and proper function.
Installing splash guard under the engine
Install:
- the splash guard under the engine
- the 6 M8 screws; tighten.
Installing the protective plate
Install:
- the protective plate
- the 6 screws; tighten.
