AFFECTED VEHICLES:
DESCRIPTION:
A booming pulsation may be felt or heard in the 3rd row seats when the vehicle is stopped in Drive, with the brake applied, and the engine at idle.
Differential Electronic Module (DEM) software has been implemented into production after the chassis range in the header in order to reduce the pre-charge torque to the rear axle. This software ONLY applies to XC9Os, model year 2009 and newer.
SERVICE:
Confirm the customers symptom (preferably with the customer present) by sitting in the 3rd row seat while somebody else is in the driver's seat with the vehicle stopped in Drive, with the brake applied, and the engine at idle.
Once the symptom is confirmed, download a DEM Upgrade using VIDA. Also, refer to RTJ 21524 for tailgate bump stop adjustments concerning the same condition. The procedures from both RTJs must be followed in order to successfully remedy this condition.
