Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Oil pump, replacing

Preparatory work

Remove:
- the timing chain according to: Camshaft chain, replacing, B8444S Removal and Replacement.




Install the front engine bracket.
Remove the sump as shown: Oil pan, replacing , B8444S Service and Repair.

Removal

Removing the oil pump




Remove the oil delivery pipe, 2 x M6 and 2 x M8. Discard the gasket.





Remove:
- the 3 x M7 screws
- the oil pump, discard the O-ring and the gasket for the oil delivery pipe.

Installation

Note! for tightening torques, see: Tightening Torque

Installing oil pump

Install:
- new O-ring
- the oil pump. Tighten. See: Tightening Torque
- the oil delivery pipe, 2 x M6 and 2 x M8, use new gasket, tighten
- the oil sump, see: Oil pan, replacing , B8444S Service and Repair
- the timing chain according to: Camshaft chain, replacing, B8444S Removal and Replacement.
