Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

See information about lifting points body Refer to: Jacking points body Locations

Remove left-hand engine support insulator Refer to: Engine support insulator left, B5244S4 Engine Support Insulator Left

Remove the starter motor Refer to: Starter motor, B5244S4 Service and Repair

Warning! Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

Caution! Make sure the open end of the hose is secured above the fluid level in the reservoir.





Remove the following items:
- Driveshaft left Refer to: Driveshaft left, B5244S4, M56, B5244S4, AW55-50/51SN Driveshaft Left
- Drive shaft right Refer to: Drive shaft right, B5244S4, M56, B5244S4, AW55-50/51SN Drive Shaft Right
- Bracket lower torque rod Refer to: Bracket lower torque rod, B5244S4 Bracket Lower Torque Rod
- Front subframe









Note! Note the different lengths of the bolts.

Torque: M10, 50 Nm

1. Torque: M8, 24 Nm

2. Torque: M12, 80 Nm

Use: Thread sealant, 1161056

Torque: Roller lock-up mechanism, 32 Nm

Installation





Caution! Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.









Use: Wheel bearing grease, 1161689

Perform input shaft, cleaning Refer to: Input shaft, cleaning, B5244S4, M56 Input Shaft, Cleaning

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Fill with oil Refer to: Transaxle oil, B5244S4, M56 Transaxle Oil

Perform clutch system venting Refer to: Bleeding the clutch system, B5244S4, M56 Service and Repair
