Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair






Three-way catalytic converter (TWC), replacing

Removal

Removing the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)
Raise the vehicle as described in Jacking points, body Service and Repair.





Remove:
- the 4 M8 nuts at the joint between the catalytic converter and the intermediate pipe. Scrap the gaskets.
- the nuts at the joint between the catalytic converter and the exhaust system. Scrap the gasket. Release the catalytic converter from the rubber mountings. Lower the catalytic converter.

Installation

Installing the catalytic converter





Install:
- the new gaskets
- the catalytic converter. Suspend the catalytic converter in the rubber mountings
- the 6 M8 nuts; tighten. Lower the vehicle.

Finishing
Start the engine and check for leaks.
