Fault tracing ECM-P252B00
Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off
Check the oil level sensor connector for contact resistance and oxidation.
Disconnect the engine control module (ECM).
Check the power cable for open-circuit. Measure between control module terminal #A47 (#A47) and oil level sensor terminal #3.
Check the signal cable for open-circuit. Measure between control module terminal #A63 (#B3) and oil level sensor terminal #1.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Start the engine.
- Read the diagnostic status and fault status for the diagnostic trouble code by selecting the diagnostic trouble code in the list.
Increase the engine speed a few times until the scan is "Implemented".
Check the fault status for the diagnostic trouble code when the scan is "Implemented". When the function is correct the fault status should be "No fault found" when the scan is implemented.
