Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-P074400

Condition

The transmission control module (TCM) checks the lockup solenoid function by comparing the speed signal from the gearbox speed sensor with the rpm signal from the gearbox rpm sensor. The signals should then "show" the same calculated rpm. The transmission control module (TCM) also compares the rpm from the gearbox speed sensor with the engine rpm. The rpm should then be greater or lower than the gearbox output rpm or speed depending on the gear that is selected. If the control module registers that the engine has suddenly stopped when the lock-up function was engaged but not registered a fault in the lock-up solenoid circuit, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when driving normally.
