Checking the status
- Ignition on
Check if the malfunction is permanent or intermittent by activating the EVAP-valve. Listen for clicking sounds and/or feel the valve for frequent vibrations.
If the valve does not vibrate, this indicates a permanent malfunction. If the valve vibrates, this indicates that the malfunction is intermittent and not active right now.

Checking component and cables
Check the EVAP-valve's connector for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the cable between engine control module (ECM) #A92 (#B32) and EVAP-valve #2 for short-circuit to ground and open circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
