The diagnostic trouble code indicates that the immobilizer codes do not match between the engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM). The code is also generated if CAN-communication between engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM) is missing.

Among others, the code may be caused by:
- Engine control module (ECM) is not programmed or has incorrect code for immobilizer, that is, the code does not match the code stored in central electronic module (CEM).
- Central electronic module (CEM) is not programmed or has incorrect code for immobilizer, that is, the code does not match the code stored in engine control module (ECM).
- Open circuit in CAN-communication between central electronic module (CEM) and engine control module (ECM)
- Programmed engine control module (ECM) or central electronic module (CEM) has been moved from one vehicle to another.
