- Start and warm up the engine.

Read off the fuel pump's load (signal from engine control module (ECM) to fuel pump module).

Check that the signal is approx. 50 % (±10 %) for idling, warm engine.

Check the cable between engine control module (ECM) #B20 (#C20) and fuel pump module #1 for short-circuit to ground, as well as open circuit.

Remedy as necessary.
