7. Checking the EVAP Valve



Checking The EVAP Valve







- The status of the valve can be determined by activating the quick test of the EVAP valve. The test is based on pressure pulsations through the valve and can be used to check the functionality of the valve.

If an EVAP valve fault is detected by the quick test, the fault is permanent.

- Allow the engine to idle throughout the entire test.

Activate the quick test of the EVAP valve, which takes a few seconds to complete.

If the result is "Fault detected", functionality is poor. Check the hose/hose connections between the EVAP valve and canister for damage, clogging or pinching. The valve may require cleaning or replacement.

If the result is "No fault detected", functionality is correct. Check the hose/hose connections between the EVAP valve and canister for damage, clogging or pinching.

Remedy as necessary.
