Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

ECM-P036600 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1)

Condition

The camshaft is divided into a number of segments (flanks). The camshaft houses a gearwheel with a number of teeth (the teeth are positioned between each segment) that are read by the engine control module (ECM) via the camshaft position sensor. The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the engine control module (ECM) detects too few segments for 2 crankshaft revolutions (one camshaft revolution).

The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed by the engine control module (ECM) when the engine is running and engine speed exceeds a certain value.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) corresponds to exhaust camshaft position (CMP) sensor, bank 1.

Substitute Value
- Engine speed sensor signal.

Possible Source
- Intermittent fault in the cable harness or connections.
- Camshaft sensor fitted incorrectly.
- Damaged mass air flow sensor.

Fault Symptom[s]
- Nothing.
