Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

ECM-P022300 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor B Circuit High Input Signal

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) receives a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and an analog signal from the accelerator pedal position sensor. In a fault-free system, the analog signal is used to determine the position of the accelerator pedal (AP).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal is too high.

The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Substitute Value
- Acceleration is ignored when braking.

Possible Source
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
- Damaged accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.

Fault Symptom[s]
- Message in the display.
- Poor response from the accelerator pedal.
- Accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking.
- Maximum vehicle speed reduced.
