Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
ECM-P020800 Injector Cylinder 8 Open - Circuit
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) regulates the injection period and the injection time by controlling the opening/closing of the injectors.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that the control signal for the injector is too high, too low or if the signal is missing. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is running.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates which injector valve is being referred to:
- ECM-P020100, injector valve cylinder 1.
- ECM-P020200, injector valve cylinder 2.
- ECM-P020300, injector valve cylinder 3.
- ECM-P020400, injector valve cylinder 4.
- ECM-P020500, injector valve cylinder 5.
- ECM-P020600, injector valve cylinder 6.
- ECM-P020700, injector valve cylinder 7.
- ECM-P020800, injector valve cylinder 8.
Substitute Value
- Fuel trim disabled.
Possible Source
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the injector valve connector.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Open-circuit on the signal cable.
- Open-circuit in the power supply cable.
- Damaged injector valve.
Fault Symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- The engine is not firing on all cylinders.
- The starter motor turns but the engine does not start.
