Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

ECM-P015800 Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) is based on two initial sensor voltage values, 0 V and 5 V.

When sensor heating is active and at least one fuel shut-off (accelerator pedal fully released for at least 3 seconds) has been performed, the rear heated oxygen sensor's (bank 2) max. value must have been above 0.6 V and the min. value must have been below 0.3 V.

The engine's cylinders are counted starting with the cylinder farthest from the engine's flywheel.
- Bank 1 (cylinder row nearest the front): cylinders 1, 3, 5 and 7.
- Bank 2 (cylinder row furthest to the rear, nearest the passenger compartment): cylinders 2, 4, 6 and 8.

If these limit values are not reached after approx. 5 minutes and the accumulated as well as the current sensor preheating, respectively, have reached certain limit values, the engine control module (ECM) interprets this as a malfunction and generates the diagnostic trouble code.

The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed with the engine running.

Substitute Value
- Rear heated oxygen sensor control off.

Possible Source
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Damaged rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).

Fault Symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL) on.
