Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

ECM-P013800 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) assumes two initial values for probe voltage, 0 V and 5 V.

When sensor heating is active and at least one fuel shut-off (accelerator pedal fully released for at least 3 seconds) has been performed, the rear heated oxygen sensor's (bank 1) max. value must have been above 0.6 V and the min. value must have been below 0.3 V.

The engine cylinders are counted from the cylinder furthest away from the flywheel.

- Bank 1 (cylinder row nearest the front): cylinders 1, 3, 5 and 7.
- Bank 2 (cylinder row furthest to the rear, nearest the passenger compartment): cylinders 2, 4, 6 and 8.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored and the engine control module (ECM) interprets it as a fault if these parameters are not achieved after approximately 5 minutes and both the accumulated and actual heated oxygen sensor preheating have reached certain parameters.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is running.

Substitute Value
- Rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) control shut off.

Possible Source
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Damaged rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).

Fault Symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
