Checking Components And Wiring







HINT: Bank 1 (cylinder row nearest the front): cylinders 1, 3, 5 and 7. Bank 2 (cylinder row furthest to the rear, nearest the passenger compartment): cylinders 2, 4, 6 and 8.

- Ignition off

Check the fuse for the circuit. If the fuse is blown, check the cable for short-circuit to ground.

Check changeover valve resistance.

Disconnect the engine control module (ECM).

Check the signal cable of the relevant changeover valve camshaft for open-circuit.

Measure between:
- Control module #A87 (#B27) and reset valve camshaft #2, inlet (bank 1).
- Control module #A86 (#B26) and reset valve camshaft #2, inlet (bank 2).

Check the power cable of the relevant changeover valve camshaft for open-circuit.

Measure between:
- System relay and reset valve camshaft #1, inlet (bank 1).
- System relay and reset valve camshaft #1, inlet (bank 2).

Remedy as necessary.
