Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

ECM-P001700 Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation - Bank 1 Sensor B

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) checks that the camshaft is in the correct position (angle) in relation to the position (angle) of the crankshaft using signals from the camshaft sensor and engine speed (RPM) sensor. If the camshaft position does not correspond to the crankshaft position, the control module adjusts the adaption for the camshaft position. The adaption value corresponds to the difference in position between the camshaft and crankshaft when the crankshaft is in its default position. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when adaption is greater or less than a certain value.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when adaption of the camshaft is carried out (adaption occurs during engine braking).
