Engine control module (ECM) checks the voltage level in the system.

If engine control module (ECM) detects that the voltage is below a certain level, this is interpreted as a malfunction and the diagnostic trouble code is generated.

The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

- Contact resistance in connections system relay.
- Contact resistance in connections battery.
- Damaged power supply/charging system.
- Damaged battery.
