Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
ECM-P033300 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit High Input Signal (Bank 2)
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) uses the signal from the knock sensors to detect combustion knocks in the cylinders. The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the control module detects that the signal from the knock sensor is higher than its normal signal interval for a certain period of time.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.
The diagnostic trouble code refers to knock sensor 2.
HINT: Knock sensor 2 detects knocking on cylinders 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Substitute Value
- Ignition angle reduction for reasons of safety.
- Knock control blocked.
Possible Source
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Open-circuit on the signal cable.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the knock sensor connector.
- Damaged knock sensor.
Fault Symptom[s]
- Poor performance.
