Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
ECM-P022100 Throttle/Pedal Position Switch B Circuit Within/Outside Range
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) receives a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and an analog signal from the accelerator pedal position sensor. In a fault-free system, the analog signal is used to determine the position of the accelerator pedal (AP).
The diagnostic trouble code is stored if the control module registers an incorrect pulse width modulation (PWM) signal.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.
Substitute Value
- Acceleration is ignored when braking.
Possible Source
- Loose connections or contact resistance in the connections on the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal cable.
- Interference on the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal cable.
- Damaged accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.
Fault Symptom[s]
- Message in the display.
- Poor response from the accelerator pedal.
- Accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking.
- Maximum vehicle speed reduced.
