Checking components
Activate the windshield washer using the windshield wiper switch. Read off the status.

Hint: If the read-out of the status of the wiper switch gave a correct result, the problem is not in the Steering wheel module (SWM).





Was the status of the wiper switch OK?

Yes - No Fault Found

No - Replacing a component

Replacing a component
Replace the wiper switch.

Other information
- Washer / wiper switch, replacing Service and Repair

Select continue when the defect has been remedied.

Activate the washer using the windshield wiper switch. Read off the status.

Hint: If the windshield wiper switch status is OK, the fault is in the windshield wiper switch.

Yes - Fault Found

No - Replacing a component

Replacing a component
Try replacing the steering wheel module (SWM).

Caution! A new control module is delivered without software. The control module must be programmed in order to function after replacement.
