Self-Diagnosis

The following is available from the self-diagnosis menu:

- 2.1 Circuit Check
- 2.2 GPS Time Setting
- 2.3 Test Tone
- 2.4 GPS Information

2.1 Circuit Check

Automatically starts an internal and external self-diagnostic (fault-tracing) in the audio unit. Press to activate the function.

For parameter a-c:
(a)Displays the vehicle speed signal from the combined instrument panel. Must display "00000" when the car is stationary. The value must then increase and decrease with speed as appropriate. There is a fault in the signal from the combined instrument panel or a fault in the audio unit if 00000 is not displayed when the car is stationary, or if the value does not increase or decrease with the vehicle speed.
(b)Displays the gyro signal from the integrated yaw rate sensor (detects the sideways movement of the car). The value should be between 490-520 when the car is stationary. The value must change when the car turns in any direction during the test drive. There is a fault in the audio unit if the value does not change.
(c)Displays the status of the signal from the back-up (reversing) lamp switch. When the engine is running and back-up (reversing) gear is not selected, the status must be displayed as: "Not R" (Not Reverse). When the engine is running and back-up (Reversing) gear is selected, the status must be displayed as: "R" (Reverse). There is a fault with the back-up lamp circuit or a fault in the audio unit if this is not the case.

For parameters d-h:
"OK" will be displayed if the self-diagnostic does not detect any faults in the units (d-h). "NG" (Not Good) will be displayed for the relevant unit if a fault is registered. This means that there is a fault in the audio unit.
Note: If "NG" (Not Good) is the displayed parameter for (f), there is a fault in the circuit for the GPS antenna. The fault may also be in the audio unit. Press to return to the diagnostic menu.
If there is no map CD (GPS Information) in the CD player, "-" will appear in the display for the CD drive. A map CD must be in the CD player to carry out diagnostics on the CD drive.

2.2 GPS Time Setting

Shows the current date and clock reading. The date and time is adjusted automatically when there is communication with at least 3 GPS satellites. The date and time can also be changed manually.

Press to activate the function.

When modifying the setting, use the right and left arrows on the navigator to move to the correct digits. Use the up and down arrows to select the time. Press to confirm the settings and return to the diagnostic menu.

2.3 Test Tone

The voice guidance channel can be tested here.

Press to activate the function. Use the navigator to select the desired luminance between 1 and 5. Then press after selecting the luminance. There should then be a short sound signal from the loudspeaker. Press to return to the diagnostic menu. There is a fault in the loudspeaker circuit in the audio unit if there is no sound.

2.4 GPS Information

Provides data about the current position of the car, as well as information about the number of GPS satellites that the audio unit is in communication with at present (updated every second) and other GPS information.

Press to activate the function. Use the navigator to scroll up and down in the display.

- N: North
- 007F1920: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents the actual altitude. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.
- 34°44'00": Displays the present latitude.
- E: East
- 036F552B: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents the actual longitude. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.
- 135°21'00": Displays the present longitude.

Time: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents the present clock reading and date. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.
Name: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents the name of those GPS satellites that the audio unit is using to calculate the position.
Num: Uses a hexadecimal value which represents a certain number of GPS satellites. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.
PDOP: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents the calculation value. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.
Height: Displays the calculated height in meters to a particular GPS satellite. This value is used by the audio unit to calculate the position.
Status: Displays a hexadecimal value which represents status information. The audio unit uses this value when calculating the position.

1 - 8: Displays the number of GPS satellites the audio unit can be in contact with. The numbers with OK displayed after them indicates the number of GPS satellites that the audio unit is presently in contact with (The illustration shows that the audio unit is in contact with only two GPS satellites). Press to return to the diagnostic menu.

Note: This requires that the audio unit is in contact with at least three different GPS satellites in order for the correct position to be calculated and displayed on the map. The audio unit can be in contact with a maximum of 8 different GPS satellites.
