Signal Missing. Intermittent Fault
Signal missing. Intermittent fault
Checking wiring and connectors
- Ignition off
Check the connector for the affected injector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check the signal cable between the affected injector terminal #2 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #59 (ECM-1E), terminal #90 (ECM-1F), terminal #60 (ECM-20) or terminal #89 (ECM-21). Check the power supply cable between the system relay terminal #5 (87) and the affected injector terminal #1. Check these cables for an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Hint: The voltage must be approximately 12 V between injector terminals #1 and #2 (control module side) for approximately 2 seconds after the ignition is switched on.
Remedy as necessary.
