Preparatory work
Removing the center console
Remove center console. Floor Console
Removal
Removing gear selector knob and boot
Remove the gear selector lever knob and the boot. Knob, Gear Selector Lever
Removing the gear selector assembly
Disconnect the left-hand gear selector cable from the end of the gear selector assembly. The screw underneath is now accessible.
Caution! Make sure that there are no sharp bends or kinks in the gear selector cables.
Remove the 4 screws. Raise the gear selector assembly slightly.
Removing the transmission cables
Hint: The screw on the puller is turned counter-clockwise to pull the gear selector cable loose.
Remove the gear selector cables from the ball connectors. Use: 999 7071 Puller 999 7071 Puller.
Disconnect the gear selector cables from the end of the gear selector assembly.
Installation

Installing the gear selector cables
Install by hand:
- right-hand gear selector cable in the end of the gear selector assembly
- the ball joints for the gear selector cables.
Installing the gear selector assembly
Install:
- the gear selector assembly
- the 4 M8 screws.
Installing the gear selector cables
Install the left-hand gear selector cable in the end of the gear selector assembly.

Install the center console. Floor Console
